Lil Baby impresses audiences with the release of his newest album “Street Gossip,” proving why he belongs with the rap industry’s best.
“Street Gossip” succeeds at providing back-to-back hit singles that incorporate a variety of energetic beats, satisfying vocals, and catchy melodies. The album revisits Lil Baby’s childhood struggles of growing up in the ‘streets’ and his newfound success as a rapper while representing a perfection in music production which hooks listeners’ attention.
Dominique Jones, professionally known as ‘Lil Baby,’ is a twenty-four year old Atlanta-based rapper who has emerged onto the rap scene this year. Lil Baby first gained the mainstream popularity after releasing his debut album, “Harder Than Ever.” Since then, Lil Baby has released a collaborative album with Gunna titled “Drip Harder” and has worked with several other platinum recording artists such as Drake.
“Street Gossip” is Lil Baby’s second studio album and consists of a total of 13 tracks. The project includes features from recognizable artists such as Young Thug, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Meek Mill. The album also includes the works of producers such as Metro Boomin, Wheezy, and Quay Global.
Lil Baby exhibits multiple techniques of his rap-style vocals ranging from soft to faster styles of rhythm. In the track titled “Time” featuring Meek Mill, Lil Baby perfectly raps in a explicit, aggressive sound to compliment the heavy beat. In “No Friends,” Lil Baby displays his inventory of sound by calmly rapping to the slow beat while recounting his lost relationships.
A highlight of the album includes Lil Baby’s catchy and memorable lyrics. Lil Baby satisfies listeners by introducing catchy, melodic hooks to each of his songs while compromising his verses with lyrical and relatable bars.

The highlight of all of the featured songs on the album includes Lil Baby’s collaboration with Young Thug in the track “Section 8.”
