Juniors Ryder Theodore and Sam Collins use their creativity and passion for music to produce a techno and house mix.
Theodore and Collins started mixing music about eight months ago using Serrato software. They practice mixing sometimes after school and mostly on the weekends. They felt that it was time to produce a mix since they have been practicing for about a year.
“It’s not that difficult to produce a mix and by producing this mix it shows us what we are capable of doing,” Theodore said. “[This] shows us what we need to improve on to become better.”
The mix that they produced is 33 minutes and 49 seconds long. They have zero background in music, so all of the techniques they learned was self-taught and learned through music videos.
“We were inspired by all the great tech DJs before us and we wanted to live up to them and be the best we can be to show everyone what we have to offer,” Theodore said.
Theodore and Collins like to be creative with their music and try to produce new and different beats that people have not heard before. They want to produce music professionally and be artists who play at music festivals and clubs.
“We’re planning on making more mixes in future and we want to start practicing other genres on music to expand our knowledge and open up different opportunities for us in the future,” Collins said.
