Pardon Our Take

Eric Brodkin

Sports Editor

Welcome back fellow Mustangs. I am so pleased to bring back the most entertaining section in all 16 pages of La Vista, Pardon our Take. After a successful year with Rafferty Waterson and Charlie Lake making us all laugh, I am excited to finally take over.
The year couldn’t have started off better with the success our football team has been having. It feels like it’s been forever since we have actually started off 3-0. However, nobody is going to be able to watch this “historic” season because we only have 4 home games.
Football season also calls for our student section to be outnumbered by the parents and the opposing teams fans. Anyway, we aren’t usually too nice to the football team on Pardon Our Take but I’m gonna be honest there is not much to say about them. Knowing their track record in the past couple of years ,there will be plenty of issues in the coming months.
Fall is synonymous with football season, but nobody knows what’s going on in the other sports. So I am going to inform you all on our other amazing sports.
Girls volleyball is casually ranked #1 in the country right now. Every year they are our best sport, but nobody pays attention. I mean, why would you when you can watch a Division 5 football game?
Water polo is doing pretty well with a record of 6-4. Best of luck on the rest of your season! If you want info on how our teams are doing, don’t look at the MCHS athletics account because they only post football scores.
If you are a football fan, the results from Saturday and Sunday set your mood for the rest of the week. With that said, here are the 5 saddest football fans right now (Who I really do hope are okay):

  1. Florida State Seminoles
  2. Carolina Panthers
  3. New York Giants
  4. Florida Gators
  5. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
And that’s the scoop for the first September!
Tune in for the next issue and as always, please Pardon Our Take.
