The Mira Costa Mustangs football team lost at Culver City Sept. 29, 14-13. Mira Costa went up 6-0 with two field goals from the help of senior kicker Nico Decistio, then followed up with a touchdown from senior tight end David Burgadonavan, putting them up 13-0 going into the half. Culver City came out in the second half scoring two unanswered touchdowns, eventually winning the game, 14-13.
Costa freshman running back Aj McBean played a large role in Costa’s offense as Mira Costa ran the ball heavily against Culver City. Junior linebacker Michael Butler, coming off a shoulder and wrist injury, is ecstatic to be back.
“ I was absolutely itching to get back on the field with my guys. Coming off of a tough first Bay League loss, we are prepping heavily to bounce back and get a win this week,” Butler said.
This week Mira Costa Mustangs will be taking on a talented Palos Verdes Sea Kings football team for its second Bay League game Friday at Costa.
