Costa’s Associated Student Body hosted its first annual Club Day of the school year during lunch today in the Mustang Mall, where student organizations sell food to raise money for their causes. ASB encouraged students to participate in club day with social media posts and daily announcements in the school bulletin. Costa’s administration hired English teacher Taylor DiBernardo from Manhattan Beach Middle School to teach English, starting at the beginning of this school year. A committee of Costa teachers and administrators selected DiBernardo for the position after interviewing a pool of candidates. DiBernardo started at the beginning of this school year teaching College Preparatory English 9 and 10.

The Costa administrative staff released an updated discipline matrix and attendance policy to be used by staff members in the 2019-20 school year when making decisons about disciplinary action for students. The revised matrix includes the steps for teachers and staff members to take when dealing with a variety of offenses, including tardies, ethics violations and drug use. It lists the offense, intervention level and standard disciplinary action, along with the corresponding education code. […]
Costa seniors attended the small theatre on Sept. 10 for the annual Letter of Recommendation Meeting during their english periods. Here counselors Robles, Ramirez, Santarosa and Beck presented what colleges including the UC’s, Cal States, private colleges, universities, and community colleges require for the contents within their applications including their minimum GPAs and how many letters of recommendations they require.
