The Mira Costa girls tennis team beat Redondo Union High School in their match on Thursday, Oct. 4. The team’s record is currently 10-1 overall and 3-1 in Bay League.

Singles player sophomore Brooke Swallow won two of her matches 6-3 and 6-1. Doubles partners, junior Sidney Ascher and senior Sulibeth Ortiz Torres, also won two of their sets. Seniors Juliana Hoft and Alex Waller won 6-4 in one of their matches.

“The key to the victory was the win in the very last match by the number three doubles team, Hoft and Waller, against Redondo’s number two team,” Coach Joe Ciasulli said. “Redondo is a vastly improved team with three really talented freshmen so it was a good win for us.”

The girls’ next match will be against Palos Verdes on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3:00 at home.
