The Mira Costa girls basketball team defeated North Torrance High School 60-30 on Dec. 6 in their second home game of the season.

Junior Camille Mills scored six points in the first quarter and was the top scorer for Costa with a total of 12 points. Costa held a strong lead over North throughout the first quarter, ending the quarter with the score 17-5. Sophomore Keilani Ikehara scored ten points and junior Michelle Lanterman scored nine points throughout the game.

“It’s great to come back and win a game after losing,” Mills said. “We learned from our mistakes from the last game and we worked on improving our game in practice which helped us go out confident and strong against North.”

The girls will play away in their first Bay League game on Tuesday, Dec. 8 against West Torrance HIgh School.
