The Mira Costa girls water polo team beat Warren High School on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 8-6 at home.
One of the eight goals scored was by Junior Jordan Raney. On a counter attack, in the second quarter, Raney scored on a breakaway to help give the team the lead. Mira Costa’s Bay League record is now 1-1.
“We were in the lead for the most part,” sophomore Sage Roebuck said. “But in the end, they almost took the lead. I am proud we could pull out a win.”
The Mustangs host West Torrance on Monday, Jan. 14, for a 3:00 game.
