The Mira Costa girls basketball team won their home game against Palos Verdes High School by a score of 73-48 on Thursday, Jan. 7. They now have a 18-9 record overall and a 8-2 record in Bay League. The girls ended the Bay League season in first place.
Senior guard Morgan Thaler scored to start off the game and was followed by senior forward, Taylor Lewis with another two points. Sophomore point guard Keilani Ikehara also scored a crucial three pointer to help the Mustangs finish the second quarter at 42-25.
“I feel that we had good intensity on defense which led to good shots on the offensive sides,” said Ikehara.
The girls will now continue into CIF games, but game times have not yet been realeased.
