The Mira Costa softball team defeated Palos Verdes High School 10-1 in their last Bay League game on May 9. The Mustangs finished second in Bay League with a 8-2 record and a 20-7-1 overall record.
Sophomore Fa Lailua went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs. Sophomore Brittany Werre scored two runs and two RBIs and went 2-for-3. Senior Taylor Glover went 2-for-5 and scored two runs to help with Costa’s victory.
“It felt great to come back from our last game with a big win even though we didn’t win Bay League,” Werre said. “It was a great season and now we can focus on going far in CIF.”
It is yet to be determined where and who the Mustangs play in their first CIF game.
