The girls volleyball team traveled to Palos Verdes High School on Wednesday and swept the Sea Kings in three sets.
The first set was really close, but with the help of senior libero Brooke Feld, who had 24 digs, the Mustangs held on to win the first set, 25-23.
In the second set, Costa held a strong lead over Palos Verdes, and dominated the Sea Kings with the help of junior outside hitter Skylar Caputo, who had 16 kills. Costa won the second set, with a score of 25-13.
In the third set, the Mustangs were one step ahead of the Sea Kings in almost every point, and with the help of senior setter Sammy Furlan who had 43 assists, Costa took the final set by a score of 25-16.
“The first set was close, but we remained steady and won,” coach Lisa Zimmerman said. “After the break, we focused in on a few adjustments on defense and made some better offensive decisions.”
The girls will play their next game away against West High School on Tuesday.
