The drama department will hold its fourth annual student-produced Holiday Benefit Show fundraiser for the off-campus Adopt a Family program on December eleventh.
This show will run similarly to a talent show with acts including singing, playing instruments, improv, dance routines and comedic monologues.
“I am excited for the show and think it will be a lot of fun because we get to pick our acts and do whatever we want,” said sophomore Cara Christian.
The Holiday show’s purpose is to raise money for the organization “Adopt a Family”, a charity which raises money to buy christmas presents for underprivileged families. $5 at the door and the proceeds will benefit the organization.
“I hope the show will be a success with raising money,” said Junior Hadley Wilder “It has been in past years Everyone deserves to have a happy holiday season and I hope I can help with that.”
To audition for the show, students performed their acts for Drama President Julia McDermott and Drama Vice President Elizabeth Hartman.
“Acts were judged based on how well they compliment each other and entertain the audience. Around twenty to thirty acts will be selected depending on the amount of time we have.” said McDermott.
The Holiday Benefit show, along with the AIDS benefit show in January, are the Drama department’s two annual, charitable performances. Both shows allow performers to choose their acts.
“I am so excited for the show, it is my favorite part of the holiday season,” said Sophomore Daisy Hummer. “I think that every drama production is a success and many people will come out to support us and contribute to our Adopt a Family fund.”
