In seventh Bay League game of the year the Mustangs battled the Inglewood Sentinels, 3-0. After the first match, Costa made sure the Sentinels had no thoughts of a comeback winning, 25-4. They won 25-11 in the second and 25-14 in the third.
The Mustangs junior varsity team played instead of our varsity to earn more varsity level experience. They won all three games by a lead of at least 14. Sophomore middle Cameron Steen lead the team with eight kills.
“It’s great opportunity to play at varsity level,” freshman libero Harrison Murphy. “We really killed it, and we need to continue this high level play.”
The Mustangs’ (7-0) next game will be on Thursday at Morningside. Having already beat the Monarchs (0-6) earlier in the season, 3-0, the Mustangs hope to continue their untouched record in league.
“I feel good about the next game against Morningside,” junior libero Sam Jones said. “We just need to be on top of our game and stay focused.”
