After the Mustangs victory at Long Beach Poly, Mira Costa’s tennis team continued its winning streak and defeated Fountain Valley on yesterday. Costa eclipsed Fountain Valley winning, 17-1, proving this year’s tennis team is a force to be reckoned with.
The Mustangs dominated throughout the match, winning 17 of the 18 games. Sophomore Bari Cohn proved to be a vital part of the team, as she won both of her games.
“As a team I think we played exceptionally well today,” sophomore Maya Serota said. “I found that Cohn played exceptionally well today and I believe she is a major force on our team.”
This season, the Costa tennis team’s record is 2-0 and has won both of its matches by more than 10 points. According to Serota, the team is having a great season and will continue to succeed.
“Although our competition wasn’t very challenging today, I thought everyone played well and got along great together,” junior Jackie Soliman said. “I think we can achieve great things and continue our winning streak.”
