On Friday, the Mira Costa girls golf team planned on participating in the Rainbow Sandals or the Lady Triton Invitational Golf Tournament at the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course; however, the Mustangs had to withdraw.

The girls had prepared a six person team for the tournament, with only five scores counting toward the final score. Unfortunately, sophomores Delilah Gunn and Sanjana Chopra got injured, causing the girls to withdraw from the tournament.

“It was huge bummer for them to get injured,” junior golf player Lexi Nielsen said. “Hopefully it will go better next year.”

The Mustangs are currently 8-0, and they will play against Peninsula in a Bay League game at Chester Washington Golf Course on Thursday.

“We feel confident,” senior golf player Marni Murez said. “All of us are playing well right now, so we know that we are in good shape to win the next match.”
