The Mustangs continued to sweep with the girls, with senior Alexa Faubert placing first in high jump with 4’10 and sophomore Jaylah Herron placing first in long jump with 17’9. According to sophomore Felitxa Zaragoza, the Mustangs had expected to do well at this meet.
“North and Beverly Hills are good practice opponents,” Zaragoza said. “We expected to do well at this meet and we achieved that.”
The Mustangs will next compete in the Redondo Nike Invitational at Redondo Union High School on Friday and Saturday as well as in the Palos Verdes Invitational at Palos Verdes High School on Saturday. According to Zaragoza, the meets this weekend are big meets and should challenge the team.
“These meets are known to have tough competition,” Zaragoza said. “We have been training hard and I think that will help us this weekend.”
