Mira Costa swim swept North Torrance High School on Thursday, with the boys winning 128-40 and the girls winning 135-31.
Junior Shannon O’Brien, freshman Nikki Cooper, senior Yen Nguyen, and sophomore Sophie Kuehler won the 200 yard medley relay, finishing at 1:59.85, making the CIF soft cut. Freshman Alexandra Crisera won the 209 yard freestyle, finishing at 1:57.49. Junior Alex Luo won the 100 backstroke, coming in at 1:04.37.
“Today went really well,” Crisera said. “We beat North by a lot. A lot of people swam really well today. I’m happy with how my team and I swam. I think that we are in a good place going into our league meets.”
The boys are now 3-1 while the girls are 4-0. The next meet will be against Peninsula at Peninsula High School on April 14 at 3 p.m.
“I honestly think peninsula is our biggest competition, and I really think our girls team can take them and hopefully keep our winning streak going through bay league,” Cooper said.
