A large tree branch broke off as a result of high winds near the Mira Costa High School small gym and foreign language classrooms on April 15.
According to Costa’s head of maintenance Jeff Mullikin, the branch blocked the walkway into school and students were rerouted around the pool. Maintenance worked to remove the branch and take it away, a process that took a total of 45 minutes.
“When winds are blowing that hard we try to keep an eye on all the trees that might have a potential of branches breaking off,” Mullikin said.
