Manhattan Beach Unified School District Board of Trustees passes resolution to declare a Classified School Employee Week

The Manhattan Beach Unified School District Board of Trustees passed the resolution to declare May 15-21 2016 as Classified School Employee Week and recognized the 2015-2016 Classified Employees of the Year at it’s meeting on Wednesday.

Classified employees were selected by their fellow employees for their commitment to serving MBUSD students. This year, Manhattan Beach Middle School Office Specialist for Special Education Leticia Salceda was announced as the MBUSD District Classified Employee of the Year. Salceda’s responsibilities include managing the one-on-one aides that work with special education students and to schedule meetings throughout the year between parents, administration and case managers.

“I am very overwhelmed and thankful to be chosen among so many great classified employees,” Salceda said. “We all work so hard [and] I know for a fact [that] I would not have been chosen without the support of my fellow classified co-workers. I think each one of us plays an important role in making MBUSD great.”
