On the weekend of September 3, Hermosa Beach exploded with its 44th annual Fiesta Hermosa which featured a seemingly endless selection of artistry, cuisine vendors, vintage and modern fashion booths, and a variety of collectible items that accentuated the beachy culture of the community.
The 44th annual Fiesta Hermosa lived up to its reputation of bringing the residents of the South Bay together for an enjoyable Labor Day weekend, as well as providing opportunities for local business owners to showcase their products. The celebration was suitable for all age groups, with an ample amount of activities and entertainment.
The much anticipated Fiesta Hermosa lasted from 10am-6pm on September 3 through 5. The festival transpired in downtown Hermosa Beach on Pier Plaza, lower Pier Plaza and Hermosa Avenue. Vendors’ tents lined the streets and shops opened their doors, welcoming in attendees.
Over 300 artists from all media backgrounds including musicians, painters, photographers and many diverse crafters set up booths. In addition to the artistry, the Food Court featured 18 ethnically diverse cuisines, attracting many different people from all nationalities.
Fiesta Hermosa targeted all age groups with its Kiddie Carnival that featured a petting zoo, pony rides, a rock wall, a 30 foot slide, spinning mechanical rides, bungee jumps and plenty of carnival games. The assortment of recreational activities made the celebration a family event filled with laughter and plenty of bonding opportunities.
Hermosa housed two stages, a Main Stage on the Pier and one in the Charity Beer & Wine Garden. The bands showcased all styles of music, reggae and classic rock at the Charity Beer & Wine Garden, as well as talented tribute bands on the Main Stage. The bands impressed with their lively performances.
Hermosa’s renowned Food Court awed with its multicultural cuisines showcasing an array of exquisite foods. The popular handmade guacamole and fresh squeezed lemonade was a big hit amongst the crowd, with a line that stretched for a block.
Fiesta Hermosa gathered the community together through art. The craftsmanship represented the community’s expertise in the field and astonished viewers with its professionalism and skill. A wide range of artistry was presented which ensured that there was a piece for everyone to enjoy.
The Labor Day celebration successfully introduced and welcomed small businesses into the community by providing equal opportunities for starting businesses to advertise their talents. Fiesta Hermosa was a chance of a lifetime for starting businesses to expand their horizons.
The festival was complete with a multitude of vintage and collector items that returned past trends to the modern stage. Complete with rare posters and vintage tees, Fiesta Hermosa reeled in past generations while simultaneously keeping the festival up to modern standards.
Fiesta Hermosa, being the largest arts and crafts festival in Southern California, did not fail to live up to its notorious reputation of bringing the community together and showcasing the community’s talents. The 2016 Fiesta Hermosa provided an enjoyable, family filled Labor Day weekend for the residents of the South Bay.
