Mira Costa’s girls golf team won 194-282 in a blowout win over rival West Torrance, at Chester Washington Golf Course in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Senior Ashley Kim led the team to victory with a score of even par 36. She was backed up by a score of 37 from fellow senior Lexi Nielsen. According to Nielsen, the team played well.
“I’m really happy about how we played today,” Nielsen said. “We pieced together what we have learned in our previous matches to play to the best of our ability today.”
With an overall undefeated record of 8-0 and 5-0 in Bay League, Costa next faces West Torrance in an away match this Thursday. Despite this undefeated start, Nielsen still sees room for improvement for the team.
“We are going to West Torrance this upcoming Thursday to compete at Alondra Golf Course,” Nielsen said “With this match we are feeling more confident in the way we have been playing and we feel we our chances at winning this match and league in a few weeks.”
