Mira Costa’s girls tennis defeated Palos Verdes High School 11-7 at home on Thursday with a top performance by senior Lena Nagy who led the team to victory winning her final singles match.
Leading player Nagy won her singles match 6-0. According to Nagy, It was a tough match but the girls were still able to pull off the win.
“Overall we played very well today,” Nagy said. “The girls all put in lots of hard work to make sure that costa got the win.”
Costa, now 10-4 overall, will take on San Marcos High School on Friday at Santa Barbara. According to Nagy, the team is very excited to play in Santa Barbara this weekend and is going to come with intention to win.
“Today’s match helped us build our confidence going into this weekend,” Nagy said. “We are bringing our best to the tournament and despite some tough matchups we hope to win and go as far as we can.”
