“The Fika Company” successfully breaks loose of predefined coffeehouse trends with their fresh and innovative take on the classic grind of brewing coffee.
Featuring a warm and inviting atmosphere, “The Fika Company” will impress any coffee connoisseur with its dynamic flavors and health conscious assortment of condiments, in addition to an impressive selection of cold brews, hot brews and teas.
“The Fika Company” offers a quality selection of both cold and hot brews, including the standard drip, espresso and americano coffees. “Fika” also offers their own “Nordic Lights” cold brew which delivers more sweet and floral flavors than the average coffee. Due to its Swedish influence, as “Fika” is a Swedish word describing a mid-day relaxing coffee break, “The Fika Company” offers an array of local Swedish pastries to accompany their coffee.
Founded by Colombian Native Andres Pineros, “The Fika Company” emanates a feeling of unmatched authenticity as 100% of the shop’s beans are directly purchased from Colombian farmers and shipped to “Fika’s” Redondo Beach location in under a week. “Fika’s” on-site and daily roasting of their Colombian beans allows for more proper and controlled development of bold and rich flavor profiles, while adding to the shops overall authentic and original appeal.
In an effort to set themselves apart from the wide array of coffee establishments in the South Bay, “The Fika Company” emphasizes their commitment to attaining maximum freshness and flavor in their brews. “Fika” coffee’s smooth and rich flavors, attributed to their on-site roasting, completely overshadow competitive coffee shops such as “Starbucks” and “The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.”
In addition to brewing dynamic coffee, “Fika” also succeeds in creating an aesthetically pleasing and inviting atmosphere. Upon entering, the defining feature of the shop is a pair of overly weathered brown leather couches, immediately setting the ambience as warm and relaxing. The simple matte black interior coupled with shiny copper accents along the bar also work to create a very industrial yet earthy feel to the space.
Despite their fresh and rich tasting coffee, “The Fika Company’s” prices in some areas are slightly higher than competing coffee shops. While the prices do properly reflect the cost of labor and quality of the beans in most cases, prices can be shocking, specifically the Nordic Lights brew which is priced at $18.
Keeping up with modern restrictive dietary trends, “The Fika Company” offers a selection of both non dairy and allergen friendly milks and sweeteners such as almond milk, coconut milk and honey, among others. While often overlooked, this small, yet positively impactful addition further adds to “Fika’s” all inclusive appeal.
“The Fika Company” impresses with their on-site roasting and richly balanced coffee flavors. With both an inviting and comfortable atmosphere and fresh tasting coffee, “The Fika Company” succeeds in their Columbian-inspired twist on the classic notion of “Fika.”
The nearest “Fika Company” location is at 350 N Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach.
