Mira Costa’s boys soccer team defeated Lawndale High School 3-0 on Thursday at Waller Stadium. The team was lead with top performances from junior midfielder Tanner Hong and junior defender Josh Rudow.
Rudow was part of the defensive unit that did not concede a goal throughout the duration of the game. According to Rudow, the team’s aggressiveness was the key to holding the clean sheet.
“I think that we did a really good job today as a unit,” Rudow said. “The game was a hard fought victory, and I really like how everyone came with energy and a willingness to be aggressive during the game.”
Costa, now 6-2-2, will play Peninsula away on Tuesday in their next matchup to start off their Bay League campaign. According to Rudow, the team plans to keep working hard and build of their latest victory.
“I look forward to Bay League because this is where we can prove how good we really are,” Rudow said. “I think that if we go into our next game with the same kind of energy we had today we are going to be fine.”
