Mira Costa’s boys soccer team defeated Ventura 2-1 on Wednesday in their third game of the South Torrance Annual Holiday tournament. Top performances came from senior defender Brady Douglas and junior forward Kyle Johnson.

The win broke the team’s 3 game losing streak, and concluded the South Torrance Annual Holiday tournament. According to junior defender Josh Rudow, the team was happy with the way it ended the tournament.

“Obviously we did not start the tournament well but at least we finished it the way we wanted,” Rudow said. “There were a lot of takeaways from the games we played and we will definitely look to improve in practice.”

The Mustangs, now 5-2-2, will play Lawndale on January 6th at homel. According to Rudow, the team looks forward to their first game before Bay League starts, as they want to display the work they have put in at practice.
“We are definitely going to work hard at practice and I think this will show when we play Lawndale,” Rudow said. “After the disappointing finish we had in the tournament I think that we really need to play well in our next game.”
