Mira Costa’s girls basketball team defeated Oak Ridge High School 48-41 on Saturday at El Dorado High School during a neutral non-conference game.
Costa started off strong, pushing ahead by the end of the first half. Costa’s aggressive offense and defense made it difficult for Oak to score in the second half. Oak was unable to catch up, and Costa ultimately won the game 48-41.
“We shot very well for the first time of the game,” Lapham said. “And we played solid defense for the last six minutes.”
Costa is now 11-7, and 2-0 in Bay League, and will play against Oak Ridge on Saturday at El Dorado Hills High School.
“In next game, we need to move the ball better against man-on-man defense,” Lapham said. “Also, the team needs to get stronger with the ball and make game speed cuts.”
