Mira Costa’s boys tennis team defeated Chadwick Hills High School 16-2 on Wednesday at home. The top players were senior Tommy Kendall, junior Ben Choromanski, and junior Jon Scalabrini.
Costa’s preseason record continues to dominate with strong performances made by Costa teammates. According to junior Evan Fortier, the match was very dominant since the team only lost two games.
“The conditions were tricky because of the strong winds, but it gave us experience that will definitely help down the road,” Fortier said.
The Mustangs, now 6-0 overall, will next play Los Alamitos High School on Thursday at Alamitos. According to Fortier, Alamitos is very tough team but it will be a competitive match if the team goes in playing its game.
“The next one is going to be tough but as long as we bring the intensity and positive spirit we will have a great chance of winning,” Kendall said.
