Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse was defeated by Palisades High School 18-22 on Monday in an away game. The team was lead by junior Charlie Manley, who helped Costa’s offensive push with eight goals.
Other offensive contributors included junior Jamie Averch and sophomore Alysia Hall The girls started the game off really strong but the other team was able to pull away and go up by a large margin, according to Manley.
“Overall, I feel like we started the game off really well in all areas of our game,” Manley said. “However they were really quick on the fast break and eventually pulled ahead.”
Costa, now 3-10 overall, will play against Peninsula High School on Wednesday away. Manley said that the team is hoping to bounce back and end their seven game losing streak against this South Bay rival.
“It is really frustrating and disappointing that we keep losing but we are going to give it our all to turn things around,” Manley said. “Unfortunately though I hurt my knee late in this last game so I won’t be able to play for a while.”
