Opening at the famous Greek Theater in Griffith Park on April 26, and returning for a second show on the 27th, The 1975 awed with their lively performance featuring rhythmic melodies and a stylistic venue choice.

The 1975 organized an introspective concert with songs from both of their previous albums, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it,” and “The 1975.”  The band played a well-known playlist and performance with an energy that kept the audience’s attention despite a disappointing second opening act.

The 1975 featured songs from both of their albums, accompanied by lead singer, Matty Healy’s lively performance style.

The 1975 are an English pop-rock band who won the Brit award for Best British Group in 2017. Their first album, “The 1975” was released in Sept. 2013 and their second album, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it,” came out in Feb. 2016 and both albums topped the UK Chart and the US Billboard 200.

The lead singer of The 1975, Matty Healy, impressed with his energetic stage presence and stunning ability to capture the audience’s attention. Healy’s goofy, careless dancing permitted the audience to feel comfortable and allow themselves to be fully immersed in the moment. With his repertoire of comical comments, Healy kept viewers engaged throughout the entirety of the concert.

The smooth playlist offered viewers a taste at both of their albums, the first album, “The 1975” having a distinct pop-rock style and the second album, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it,” having an 80’s feel. The diverse range of styles provided a well-rounded, entertaining show.

The Greek Theater gave the concert a more intimate feel, allowing the viewers to experience a connection with the band. The outdoor setting was an exceptional alternative to a stuffy stadium and the acoustics resonated off of the mountains.
