Track and Field competes in CIF Preliminaries

Mira Costa’s track and field team competed in CIF Preliminaries at Moorpark High School on Saturday. The girls 4 x 100m relay qualified for CIF finals as well as Shante Robinson who qualified for 4 x 400 m relays.

This was the Mustang’s preliminary meet to CIF Finals. The CIF Preliminaries meet hosted a list of talented schools from that have shown promise over the course of the season and consequently qualified for CIF.

“The meet was held at Moorpark high school. The girls 4 x 100 m relay qualified for CIF finals all the boys had a good time at 44.04 but did not qualify,” said junior Tony Shar.

The Mustangs who qualified will next compete in CIF Division 1 Finals at Cerritos College next week. The next event will take place on Saturday, at a time yet to be determined.

“In addition many cross country runners performed at the highest level and also qualified for CIF finals. Hopefully all the athletes that are qualified can compete again and qualify for masters the following week,” said Shar.
