Taylor Swift surprises her loyal fans with the release of her sixth studio album, “Reputation” that successfully challenges her innocent reputation.
“Reputation,” features a mix of upbeat pop songs with new rhythms, stunning vocals and original lyrics that portray a variety of emotions and allow listeners to get a glimpse into Swift’s attempt to break free of her past.
Taylor Swift is a well-known American singer, actress, and public figure. She first began her career singing country music, and eventually escalated to singing different kinds of pop music. Her last album “1989” was released in 2014, and did extremely well, winning the Grammy for album of the Year.
Swift’s new album “Reputation” was released November 10 by the music label Big Machine Records. The album features a total of 15 tracks including guest artists like singer, Ed Sheeran, and rapper, Future.
One of the best features of the album are the uncommon beats that Swift incorporates in her songs, which create engaging rhythms. Unlike her previous tracks from other albums which feature monotonous beats and repeated lyrics, this album presents a refreshing new sound that creates a lasting impression on the viewer.
Similar to most modern day pop singers, the tracks on the album cover a variety of topics such as heartbreak, pain and happy memories. This prevents the songs from becoming repetitive and demonstrates Swift’s talent as a musician through her ability to discuss a breadth of subjects in her music.
In addition to the exciting background music, the lyrics flow easily as well as tell a story. Swift encaptures specific moments and aspects of her life through her lyrics making the album a collage of stories which allows listeners to form personal connections with her.
As usual, Swift’s stunning vocals add another level of entertainment to her music. Without fail, Swift can hit high notes as well as surprisingly low notes. Even as she attempts a completely new genre of music, Swift remains consistent with her powerful voice.
Overall, Swift successfully releases an unreal pop album. “Reputation” features unbelievable vocals along with refreshing beats and background music. Although this album does not contain Swift’s typical “good-girl” attitude, it still manages to blow listeners away and showcases Swift’s extensive musical ability.
