Mira Costa girls volleyball team defeated Peninsula on October 2 at a home conference match.
The Mustangs won 3-1. The first set they won 25-17, then 25-18, and 15-17.
“The team did good overall taking care of business and executing so that we handled them easily, and we all contributed,” senior libero Malia Yuhl said.
The Mustangs overall record is 21-6 and their bay league record is 6-1. Their next opponent is Redondo Union September 3 at home. Next game Mira Costa is looking to improve on our competitive mentality for every match to come out with the same fire every time they are on the court and not let up, according to Yuhl.
“We’re expecting a highly competitive match because we know that we can compete with them and even beat them, since we won the first set last time,” Yuhl said. “We’re expecting them to make great plays and serve tough, but we have been preparing very conscious of how they play so that we can bring it in our own home gym.”
