The Mira Costa Mustangs boys soccer team visited the Peninsula Panthers on Jan. 21. The Bay League game ended in a 2-2 tie.

As the Panthers expected to end the half with a lead, junior Brad Baeuchler was able to put in his first goal of the season from a great cross from senior D.J. Peper. Peper put the ball across the field and Baeuchler headed it into the goal to bring the Mustangs to 1-1 at the end of the first half.

The Panthers were able to put in their second goal of the game early in the second half. To overcome the deficit, the Mustangs accelerated their offensive pressure. With a minute left in the game, junior Jess Chamberlain leveled the score from junior Andy Macedo’s pass. The game ended with the 2-2 draw.

The Mustangs visit the Palos Verdes Seakings on Jan. 25. If the Mustangs beat the Seakings, both teams will be tied with 10 points in the Bay League.
