Seniors Lucas Falley and Yusuf Abdul-Cader have created a new instagram account to show off their culinary adventures and review local restaurants.

The duo created the account to have some fun and just mess around, but it has grown to be more serious after people began sending in pictures of a bunch of different foods, according to Cader. Also, they wanted to promote eating outside of the South Bay as they feel many students tend to not explore the different foods, according to Falley.

“It started as a joke but we love food and sharing it with friends,” Abdul-Cader said. “We wanted to have some fun with showing people our food pics.”

After finishing up their college applications they decided that they wanted to do something fun and interactive, so they started the account. According to Cader, they were reviewing and comparing other restaurants between themselves and then decided to create the account to share their opinions with others.

“We were talking about how with college apps and all that stuff done we needed to spend our time doing something else,” Falley said. “We wanted something outside of school to focus on and grow and improve.”

They are looking to grow the starving studs account by creating youtube food reviews where they will record an episode at different restaurants and rate the food. They have already discovered a few great new restaurants such as Ruji Chinese, Wing Ferno, and Howlin Rays.

“We were joking around one day at a restaurant and were just pretending to review and compare to other restaurants,” Falley said. “We came up with the idea to make a food review page.”

The duo are now trying to organize visits to different restaurants with friends and people who have shown interest in the account. They hope to expand it in the future and possibly coordinate with some restaurants, according to Falley.

“It’s been hard but we are just trying to keep active,” Falley said. “We may try and coordinate with some restaurants if possible.”
