It’s crazy to think that four years after we sat next to each other for three weeks over the summer filled with movies, music reviews and one presentation about Walter Cronkite in Beginning Journalism, we would be writing our final words to be published in La Vista. We always knew each other but were never really friends when we first joined on staff, but it is safe to say that four years of crying, laughing and stressing in room 101 have definitely changed things.

We have always valued being a part of a student organization that only seeks to discover and deliver the truth about what happens on campus and in the community. No other Costa organization brings together such a diverse group of students who share their unique talents and passions, and we can only hope that La Vista continues to maintain what 69 years of students have worked to build.

Over our four years on La Vista, we’ve had to deal with many changes, including learning from three different advisors. In retrospect, each advisor has taught us something unique and invaluable to our experience. Mr. Mac taught us the fundamentals of journalism and how to be adaptable with any change, Mr. Zeoli brought a new perspective to La Vista as the English Department chair and Ms. Sweeny restructured the program to make it more organized.

Going into this year, we knew we would have to overcome the challenge of working with a smaller staff. However, we are so proud of what we were able to accomplish and feel so grateful for the many juniors who took on more responsibility and made this year so successful.

To Josie and Madeleine: we know that being editor-in-chief can seem daunting, but we have watched you and seen you grow as editors and as people, and we know that you will be successful in whatever you do in La Vista.

To Sweeny: Thank you for your dedication to La Vista these past two years. We appreciate all of your guidance and support.

To the new La Vista staff: We hope that you learn to love La Vista the way that we have. Put in as much effort as possible, and you’ll see that even though La Vista is dysfunctional, that’s what makes it a family.

Mainly, we want to thank everyone that has been with us over these four years, especially our faithful closet-turned-office.
