Recreating the 1992 Disney animated movie, “Aladdin” engages audiences and brings back childhood memories. Magic, genies, and flying carpets make “Aladdin” an all-around entertaining movie.
“Aladdin”, directed by Guy Ritchie, tells the story of Aladdin, a “street urchin” who falls in love with Princess Jasmine, the daughter of the sultan of Agrabah. Aladdin, played by Mena Massoud, discovers a magic lamp containing an all-powerful genie inside, played by Will Smith. Aladdin wishes for the genie to turn him into a prince, so that he can be with Princess Jasmine. Together, they try to defend Jasmine’s kingdom from the evil Jafar.
The CGI effects, such as the flying carpet, are created with ample detail, which brings the original “Aladdin” movie to life, as well as captures the audience’s attention with vivid, intense colors throughout.
One of the film’s biggest strengths is its ability to set a good example for its audience. At the beginning of the film, Aladdin is seen giving his hard-earned food to a homeless boy and his family. “Aladdin” skillfully teaches the audience the importance of being altruistic and compassionate towards others.
The film is also effective in its attitude towards social normalities and gender roles. “Aladdin” concludes with Princess Jasmine becoming the new sultan of Agrabah, which has never happened before. The film sets the path for future generations and spreads the idea of women’s independence and strength.
Successfully entertaining audiences and creating impressive special effects, “Aladdin” is a memorable experience for both kids and adults. Its inspirational story and positive message make it an enjoyable film for all types of viewers.
