Girls Volleyball had a smash hit over the weekend while competing at Edison High School, coming in 2nd place at the Annual 2019 Dave Moh’s Memorial Tournament.
The Mustangs played a total of 6 teams over the course of 2 days. The teams included Corona Del Mar, Great Oak, Orange Lutheran, Vista Murrieta, Temecula Valley, and Marymount. The Girls ended with an overall record of 5-1 matches, after losing the final match to Marymount with a score of 20-25, 22-25.
“Overall our team played really well, and we did a really good job coming together and fighting for every point,” junior Nikki Underwood said. “We are all super close which makes playing in tournaments even more fun.”
At the end of the tournament, senior Jenny Jenks, Underwood, and senior Ella Snyder received the awards for the All Tournament Team Winners. Although the final results weren’t exactly what the girls were hoping for, they all came together as a team to congratulate their teammates on their achievements.
“This year, the team has the best team chemistry that I have seen in the past three years of being a part of the Costa Volleyball Program,” said Jenks, who is the Varsity Team Captain.
Girls Volleyball will be playing at 5:15 at Palos Verdes High School Sep. 17th. Their current overall record is 3-1.
“We all share the common goal of winning and pushing each other, which I think will help us be successful in the future,” said Jenks.
