Since Louis Vuitton’s debut in 1854, the company continues to grow into one of the most well-known designer brands around the globe.

“Louis Vuitton X,” a pop-up museum in Los Angeles, offers a modernized and interactive perspective on 160 years of collaborations with designers, exhibiting the brand’s rich history.

“Louis Vuitton X” opened on June 28 after the brand purchased a $245 million building in Beverly Hills. The museum brings visitors into 10 separate rooms that show a highly exclusive range of the Louis Vuitton’s past collaborated products, including handbags and runway pieces. It also showcases the work of several other designers, including Cindy Sherman, Karl Lagerfeld, Zaha Hadid, Rei Kawakubo, Yayoi Kusama, and Frank Gehry.

The entirety of the museum remains on one floor. The attendees start in a room and continuously move throughout the 10 rooms. Each room is designed to showcase certain elements of Louis Vuitton’s past works, all of which include bags, fashion, paintings and other accessories. The unique displays all tell a different story to viewers.

After navigating through the interactive rooms, there is a designated area upstairs that has pieces of the collections available for sale, featuring exclusive products created by Sarah Andelmen, the former creative director of Colette, as well as products by other designers.

A highly notable piece that is displayed in the museum is the Alzer suitcase from an extremely exclusive collection in 2006 that was for the Wes Anderson movie “The Darjeeling Limited.” This piece has a special embellished leather consisting of a wide range of safari animals and tropical trees. This limited collection was built off of Louis Vuitton’s past archives and inspires new designers that the brand collaborates with.

In a specific room that displays the past Louis Vuitton dresses and gowns from previous award shows, there is a gown designed for Sophie Turner, an actress known for her role as Sansa Stark on “Game of Thrones.” She appeared in the gown at the 2017 Met Gala, and many fans were left speechless after seeing her. This adds to the exhibits significance to pop culture.

The “Louis Vuitton X” pop-up museum is open until Nov. 10 and is located at 468 North Rodeo Drive. For more information regarding the exhibit, visit  us.louisvuitton.com.
