Mira Costa’s boys water polo defeated the school’s biggest rivals, Redondo Union High School at home, 7-4, on Tuesday, Oct 29. Their top performer was captain and senior Ryder Theodore with two goals.
The Mustangs had a rocky game, barely keeping up. The first quarter ended, 1-1 but managed to pick it up a bit in the second quarter, ending it, 4-2. The third quarter ended, 5-3 by keeping their offense up. Although the Mustangs won, 7-4 they did not seem to be on top of it, having many sloppy plays. re
“We didn’t play our best, but we are always stoked to get the dub,” Theodore said.
The Mustangs were originally supposed to play against rivals, Redondo Union again on Thursday, Oct. 31. Although, Costa will have to wait to redeem themselves due to rescheduling.
“We saw how they played today and we know who their stronger players are,” senior Finn Condren said. “We will adjust our offense to score more goals that we did yesterday.”
