The Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach (CSCRB) held their annual Sunset at the Beach event on Oct. 1 to raise awareness and money for cancer patients.
Pitched as a “Virtual Event Celebrating Hope, Support, and Community,” the celebration’s goal was to offer hope through charitable contributions to the cancer community. The free support they offer towards cancer patients aids them and their loved ones through the difficult journey to getting better.
“They are a non-profit organization that offers support to individuals and families that are going through cancer treatments and need cancer support,” Malaga Bank Vice President of Branch Services Naher Elramly said. “This organization is especially close to our hearts.”
In the first moments of the event, those diagnosed with cancer during the past 6 months of COVID-19 were recognized. The audience participated in live and silent auctions and were prompted to bid on trips and more in hopes of raising money for cancer patients.
“We are honored to have Mark DeCarlo join us for this special night and to bring this opportunity for people to participate in one of our events from the comfort of their home or wherever they might be,” CSCRB Executive Director and CEO Joey Shanahan said.
