Costa parent Jeff Walker is creating a Costa volleyball documentary highlighting Costa’s alumni.

Walker is the father of two Costa volleyball players, senior Chloe Walker and sophomore Georgia Walker. He recently decided to organize a series of stories and clips to make a documentary about all of the past alumni that have played on the Costa’s volleyball teams.

“I’m currently recruiting several key alumni to help me tell the story of all the great players who have played on Costa’s indoor and beach [volleyball] teams,” Walker said. “My goal is to recruit a team to produce a documentary.”

The purpose of the documentary is to advertise the Costa volleyball teams in order to bring more attention to the higher-level players who are currently playing for Costa volleyball. He hopes that by creating this documentary, it will encourage college scouts and recruiters to get more involved. Therefore, these high school players can have opportunities to play in college and possibly play professionally.

“The purpose of this series is to build an international brand for Costa and its girls volleyball teams,” Walker said. “This will help the girls get more attention from colleges and hopefully promote beach volleyball, which is the fastest growing sport in the NCAA.”

The players that will be involved in this project are both indoor and beach players who have not only played for and graduated from Costa, but were experienced enough to play in college and the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP). The AVP is the largest and longest-running professional beach volleyball tour in the United States. The players that are being recruited for this documentary have gone on to play in the Olympic games and have won multiple medals and titles.

“Eric Fonoimoana, Holly McPeak and Sylar Caputo have already agreed to help me after the holidays,” Walker said. “Hopefully with this help I get the documentary up and running after the holidays.”

All of these recruited players have one thing in common: they were beyond devoted to the sport and put extreme effort into improving their game. According to Walker, all  of these athletes have proven themselves to be a unique and valuable player, whether they come from winning the AVP or playing volleyball for a Division 1 university.

“These girls moved on to play at the next level by being discovered playing for Costa and playing in tournaments every weekend,” Walker said. “The idea is to show the world that our beach team is the best in the country.”

Both the Costa volleyball teams and all of the alumni who participated in the making of this documentary are eager for the final result and to see all the hard work finally pay off.
