On Mar. 16, in the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School gym, Costa boys indoor volleyball took the win against the Panthers. The boys won all three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-20.
According to sophomore outside hitter Reese Leonard, Peninsula was in the lead for most of the second set. However, senior libero Dylan Warner had a five point serving run to win them the set.
“We had a rough start to the second set,” Leonard said, “but with Dylan’s serves, we were able to pull through and win 25-14.”
This was Costa’s first sweep of the season, despite the absence of their senior captains. According to Leonard, the boys are ready to focus on their next away game against Palos Verdes. Their overall record is now 8-4.
“I thought it was a great game, especially with the lack of our senior captains,” Leonard said. “Everyone who filled in their spots came with the fire we needed.”
