The team is run by head coach Aaron Karsh, and assistant coaches Nick Dela Esprella and Taj Mobley, who help transform the team into the best players possible, ensuring success across the board.

“We have a lot more players this year bringing in a ton of new talent. It looks like we have a very healthy talented roster on Varsity,”  head coach Aaron Karsh said. “These boys have been showing up to practice ready to work to win the Bay League title.”

The team began practicing in August. According to sophomore midfielder Eli Cebula, it is prepared to take on some of its biggest league rivals such as Loyola, Redondo, and Palos Verdes.

“My main goal for the season is to Win the Bay League Title and dominate against our rivals. We shouldn’t lose a game this year,” sophomore defensive pole Gavin Fix said. “We have a great team with a ton of guys willing to put in the effort.”

going full speed game realistic so during the games there wouldn’t be a big difference.

According to Fix, the Mustangs have been putting in the work this season. At practice, they compete against their teammates, making each other better with every repetition. To finish out practice, they end with some conditioning to gain the extra edge on the opponent this season.

“I hope we can win the bay league and make it far in the CIF playoffs,” senior midfielder Lorenzo Marescalchi said. “For us to achieve this goal we need to work hard on and off of the field.”

Senior DJ Mullenhoff is a two-sport athlete and a large asset to Mustang Lacrosse. Mullenhoff is a defender on the varsity soccer team and on the lacrosse defense as a D pole. Mullenhoff has verbally committed to play Division 3 Lacrosse at Elmhurst University in the fall.

“My coaches have had a huge impact on allowing me to learn and grow as a player in a newer environment when I was a freshman last year. I was able to find great success in last year’s season starting as a freshman from all the encouragement from the coaches and especially the players, ” sophomore goalie Michael Butler said. “The community of players is what motivates you to work hard and show up every day. I am very grateful for the lacrosse program here and in Costa and can’t wait to see what this season will be like.”

Boys lacrosse had its first game at 6:00 pm at Palisades High School on Feb. 24. According to MaxPreps, the Mustangs will face the Dolphins for the first game of its season and hope to come out with a win and start off their streak.

“While going into the first game of our season, I can feel the competitiveness coursing through my veins when my teammates and I step onto the field,”  sophomore midfield Eli Cebula said. “We will take the field expecting a victory.”
