Pardon our Take #3

Mustangs, are you ready to dive head first into the comical chaos and sporting sagas of the beloved Costa High? Buckle up, because in this edition of Pardon Our Take, we’re about to expose unbelievable tales from our school’s sports scene both in and out of school.

Last issue we focused on a sport that one might say has a “bigger attendance…” Football. While we called them out for their unbelievable record, we admit that they have recently turned a new leaf in their performance and are on a winning streak for the third week now, nice turn around boys. This issue however, we are going to talk about the most underrated team at Mira Costa. Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce you to the dark horse of Costa Sports: Girls Golf.

Our Girls Golf team won their bay league championship and continues to impress anyone that will give it a chance (unfortunately there aren’t many that will). We find it interesting that sports like football get more recognition than sports like Golf and we’ve boiled it down to one key difference: winning records. You’ve heard it here first, Pardon Our Take will die on the hill that Costa students find more interest in watching their teams lose. And that’s not the only thing we find frightening.

Anyone that frequents the Bay Club in El Segundo can attest to the insurgence of self-proclaimed “gym rats” getting ready for their usually unsuccessful “winter bulk.” There are a few select rats however who have our respect but who we are really talking about are the hoards of underclassmen and middle schoolers that crowd the benches for hours, desperate to hit their PRs with the wildest form you’ll ever see. In actuality these winter bulkers are no different than the old heads that claim that their New Year’s Resolution is to go to the gym.

That is all we’ve got for this issue. We would like to thank our loyal readers for their unwavering support as they Pardon our Take.
