Girls Waterpolo lost their home opener against Woodrow Wilson High School on Tuesday. The Bruins went up big on the Mustangs and they were unable to stay in the game. According to sophomore Catalina Marian, there are some positives the team can take away from the game.

“I think the team had a better dynamic than other games we have had this season even if our score was low,” Marian said. “Playing a good team requires everyone to be aware of what is going on in the game and trust each other and it motivates us all knowing that difficult games can only make us improve.”

The Mustangs were part of a physical game against the Bruins and never gained momentum in the game. According to Marian, playing difficult teams helps them grow as teammates and grow a bond.

“My favorite part about this sport is how close the team gets with each other because the game relies on trust and communication. It’s also a very competitive and technical sport and the whole team bonds knowing that we are playing a challenging sport together.”

The Mustangs hope to bounce back with a win on Dec. 28 at Los Alamitos High School.
