2024 MBUSD Meadows Elementary School Transitional Kindergarten Teacher, Michelle Mangan, has earned the respect and admiration of both kids and teachers. Michelle’s reputation as an exceptional educator preceded her, since she had forty years of teaching experience, thirty of which were in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.
Michelle had made an indelible impression on four elementary schools in MBUSD over her successful career, providing knowledge and wisdom to kids at all grade levels. Michelle’s ability to teach was unparalleled, from the fun energy of PEP to the formative years of transitional kindergarten and kindergarten, all the way up to the core skills of second grade.
“I strive to make a great impact with each and every kid,” Michelle stated, Teaching was more than a career for her; it was a calling—an opportunity to affect the future and improve the young lives of each kid.
Michelle’s greatest skill was her ability to connect with her students. She believed in laying strong foundations not only mentally but also emotionally and socially. In her classroom, she made sure every kid felt loved and encouraged. Michelle talked about how she uses hands -on activities to ensure that each kid is engaged in their classwork and making sure they understand the material. She believes in adding new activities and changing things up frequently which helps the kids learn.
