Softball starts Bay League with a loss

The Mira Costa Mustangs softball team played on April 13 in their first league game of the season against Peninsula. The Mustangs were defeated by two runs at Peninsula with a final score of 5-3.

Mira Costa remained in close contention in the game until the sixth inning when, with the score tied 3-3, Peninsula scored two runs and held the Mustangs scoreless for the rest of the game. The top performer for Costa was junior Katie Saunders, who had two singles and an RBI.

This loss starts the Mustangs off with an 0-1 record in Bay League and a 11-3-1 record overall. Mira Costa’s next game is on April 15 against another Bay League opponent, Leuzinger.
