The boys water polo team faced off away against rival Palos Verdes on Oct. 20.
In one of Mira Costa’s closest contests of the year, the Mustangs battled the Sea Kings for three periods, however, Palos Verdes was able to pull away in the last period of the match and Costa came up just short losing 8-7. The boys record now falls to 10-11 overall and 2-2 in Bay League play.
Senior captain Matt Thornton kept the Mustangs close the whole game with 2 goals.
Mira Costa’s up coming games will be at the Orange County Tournament that will take place throughout the week of Oct. 24-29.
