After a season of ups and downs, the Mira Costa football team knew that the Nov. 18 CIF match-up against Oaks Christian would be a tough match to pull off a victory in. Despite a battle by the Mustangs, the number two seed Oaks Christian defeated Costa 43-10. The Mustangs ended the season with a 4-7 overall record.
Seniors Stevie Giovati and Brandon Edmond had 57 and 59 rushing yards, respectively. Junior Raphael Lawson-Gale was Costa’s leading receiver and caught passes from junior quarterback Ryan Sweigart to rally the team.
Though Mira Costa must say goodbye to its seniors, the team is optimistic for next season and will do whatever possible to have a successful season in 2012.
