Tavai and Purcell named Costa male, female athletes of the year
At Mira Costa’s 2011 All Awards Assembly on May 26, senior football player J.R. Tavai was awarded Male Athlete of the Year. Other nominees included lacrosse player Tom Farrell and water polo and volleyball player Jake Miller.
